Our new activity is a Hogle Zoo Party on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 12 noon to 4 pm. Candlelighters will pay for all children (patients and siblings). Adult fare is $7 per person. Please bring your own sack lunch and Candlelighters will provide refreshments and desserts. We will meet at the Peacock Pavilion past the Elephant and Rhinoceros exhibits. Beginning Tuesday, June 3, 2008 and for the following nine Tuesdays until August 5, 2008, Candlelighters offers a Sibling Support Group at Cancer Wellness House. This is a drop-in group for all Candlelighters siblings ages 11-18 years. Registration is required. The group will meet from 6:30 - 8:00PM each Tuesday evening. Rocky Mountain Candlelighters presents our annual Family Summer Picnic at Lagoon, Saturday July 19th, 2008 from 10am to 4pm. You can register online. Please indicate number of children and adults and anyone not riding the rides in the comments section of online registration. Candlelighters will pay for all children. Adult prices are $26.95. Camp AFOOFA - All For One; One For All |

Camp AFOOFA is now offered three times in the fall:
- Camp AFOOFA Teen: Monday, August 4 through Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Great Basin Environment Education Center (GBEEC) in Ephraim Canyon. Camp is open to all teens (patients and siblings) ages 12-18 years. There is no fee for this camp. Transportation will be provided from Salt Lake City with pickup in Orem on Monday, August 4, 2008. A nurse attends the camp. Register online at the Calendar
- Camp AFOOFA South: Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 7, 2008 at GBEEC in Ephraim Canyon. There is no fee for this camp. Camp is open to all family members and is limited to the first 40 registered. Register online at the Calendar and please indicate the number of adults and the number of teens attending in the comments section of the registration section.
- Camp AFOOFA North: Friday, September 12 through Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Camp Utaba in Eden, Utah. Camp is open to all family members and is limited to the first 200 registered. There is no fee for this camp. Register online at the Calendar and indicate the number of adults and the number of children attending in the comments section of the registration section. RV parking is allowed.

Family Financial Education Seminars |

Our first Financial Seminar, "Forging Your Financial Future" was a great success and those families who attended received great information about protecting their assets during cancer treatment, securing their own financial records with wills, trusts, and other documents. Our next seminar in a series will be held in August. The participants identified several areas of interest including: Medicaid eligiblity criteria, insurance and hospital billings, debt counseling, and savings plans. Our trainer, James Zeberlein of Zeberlein Financial Planning LLC has shared a Monthly Expenditures worksheet that will help families manage cash better.
